Kitchen Duty

Kevin is right, we do have a fairly healthy number of volunteers. I'm going to do sloppy joes for dinner Thursday night (Sid will help with that), mom (Aunt Marilyn, Mari, Lyn) was going to do Chili one night and I think that Marjorie just volunteered Steven to cook us something famous (but I can't tell what it is exactly). Gavin volunteered for omelettes for breakfast one day. We still have two breakfast slots open. Kevin has volunteered to eat alot... we have a few of those slots left.

Everyone is on their own for lunch.

Steven and Marjorie

I've spoken to Steve and Marjorie, too, and they are definitely planning to be there.

Steven, for your "talent night" can you bring your keyboard? Or would that be too bulky to bring. Those of us who have heard you play certainly enjoy it, and those who haven't yet are missing a treat!

Marilyn

Cathy and Nancy

I just heard from Cathy ... they have their tickets and are raring to go!
They volunteered to "man" the bunk house with whatever kids are willing to spend the night out there ... they asked for the Saturday night spot, since they will be jet-lagged upon arrival.
Can hardly wait to see them ... and for most of you to meet Nancy for the first time.

Welcomes all around....

Uncle Steven, I'm looking forward to seeing you and again and to meeting Marjorie!

Maureen, it sounds like you are bringing a full crew! I can't wait to see you all. Remind me again of the ages of your kids (I bet the boys would hate that... they are still kids to me but I'm working on it.)

Lisa, yeah, I don't think I ever told Sid how to find this site either. He knows it's out here somewhere. I'll work on it. We shouldn't be leaving out the spouses.

Kevin, Thank you for the update on Gavin and Jackie. I'm very sorry for the way that this turned out but if its not meant to be then it's not meant to be.

River Rats

River Rat Tube Rental is the closest one to the farm. They are open from 9-5 and the cost could be as much as $12/person. If we have 10 people the price drops to $10/person and if we can hustle up a group of 20 the price drops to $9/person. For the price you get a tube, a life jacket (if you want it) and unlimited shuttle rides back up the river. Their section of the river is 1.5 miles and the trip takes anywhere from 1-1.5 hours depending on the speed of the water. Children as young as three are allowed to go. The kids tubes have seats in them. Advanced reservations are appreciated especially for large groups.

I'd like to do this early on Friday before the crowds pick up too much, and then do the horseback riding on Saturday. I don't expect the horseback riding to get as crowded. Sound good?

So, please weigh in by clicking on the "comment" below this note and say "HI" or whatever.

Let the record show that Lisa is thinking of having all of us participate in a "talent show" at the reunion. Be thinking what you can do when called upon ...!

Gavin, Jackie and the new baby....

Has anyone heard where they are on the actual birth of this little girl? I think that Kevin said that the target was mid-June, which is pretty much now.... not that I'm impatient or anything.

Dinner - Day One

I've decided on sloppy-joes, green beans, salad and cobbler. Sloppy-joes are certainly easy and I wont be the one that has to clean the pan.......

Well our family is a little bit smaller today....

Blake has gone back home to live with his Mom and we wish them well. He stayed with us about eight months and changed us all for the better. Now I'm ready for a few months with a small, easily portable family. We will see you all in July.
