River Rats

River Rat Tube Rental is the closest one to the farm. They are open from 9-5 and the cost could be as much as $12/person. If we have 10 people the price drops to $10/person and if we can hustle up a group of 20 the price drops to $9/person. For the price you get a tube, a life jacket (if you want it) and unlimited shuttle rides back up the river. Their section of the river is 1.5 miles and the trip takes anywhere from 1-1.5 hours depending on the speed of the water. Children as young as three are allowed to go. The kids tubes have seats in them. Advanced reservations are appreciated especially for large groups.

I'd like to do this early on Friday before the crowds pick up too much, and then do the horseback riding on Saturday. I don't expect the horseback riding to get as crowded. Sound good?

Sounds good. We still need to work in a trail hike, but should be able to do that after the horses?

Love, Mom

Sure, I figure if we ride more than an hour we'll be too sore to hike.

Those of us with small kids may not tube more than once or twice either, as the novelty may wear thin after an hour for the younger set.
