Okay Smith Kith.......
Cathy asked about getting the round robin going around again. I voted against that because I felt like we could handle the technology and use this blog to keep each other up to date from time to time. My question is... will I be the only one throwing stuff out here? For that you could stop by my regular blog Life's Little Things and it doesn't get me caught up on you and yours. Shall we start the round robin again?
In the meantime.... School is well underway here. Sheela's teacher calls and/or emails four or five times a week. I'm in awe of how much communication there really is bettween the students, the teachers and the parents. It just doesn't seem like school the way that I remember it. Sunil is apparently focused on maps. He can find Texas, Asia and Europe on any map even if it's a map of New England. There may be some room for refinement of his technique. Our soccer season kicked off with a tournament last weekend. Sheela's team is undefeated, and Sunil's team is, er, defeated. It was the first time the boys had ever played and they had to play up a level. Sid is hosting his second wine dinner this evening and I have nothing new to say about me. I hope that you are all well (and that you'll tell us about it).

I think we should use this Blog as our round robin. At least one person in each family group has managed to sign up and contribute at least once, so it should work.
Mainly, we need someone to remind every one to read/contribute. Cathy?!!!
Brian and I tune in to the blog regularly - so that works for us, too.
Well, all righty, then! Anyone who doesn't read or post will just be missing out! Let's aim for each family unit posting at least once a month, OK? Karin said Cathy and Nancy's dialup is sooo slow that they probably won't participate as much as they would like to. But, I'm betting that they will break down and get satellite internet access before too long!
'Lo...Am preparing to celebrate (Sunday, 5 Nov 2017) the 398th Anniversary of America's 1st Thanksgiving, held in 1619 a.d., at Berkeley Plantation on the James River, Virginia. (Yes...held a year before the Pilgrims even arrived up in Yankee-land). Berkeley, by the way, keeps on display a nice letter from JFK saying he recognizes Berkeley's rightful claim to 1st Thanksgiving, but since he is from MA, nevertheless he is still gonna celebrate theirs as if it were the 1st. As far as I know, everybody from wherever gets a good chuckle when reading that letter. Anyway, we, Henricus Colledge (1619)r, will have a booth on the grounds all day, and will be able to watch the ceremonial re-enactment of the ship arrival and landing, etc. Soooo, c'mon down, have some smoked turkey leg and Indian waffles, and check out our display re the central role of the continent-wide Virginia Company (1606-1624) in the centuries-long effort to do away with Monarchy in favor of a Republic (i.e. from Princehood and Priestcraft to President and Preacher). I now have an office near Richmond, adjacent to the original 10,000-acre river-front campus of the 1619 Henricus Colledge, and things are busy here. C'mon down...oh...already said that, but c'mon down anyway. This Smith Kith & Kin Blog is a good idea. ~ Steven, 3 Nov 2017
This is like the old Smith Family Round Robin, which never really worked well since it took forever to do the "round" thing. Anyway...this Blog could actually do the trick. Blessings. Steven, 3 Nov 2017
