Okay Smith Kith.......

Cathy asked about getting the round robin going around again. I voted against that because I felt like we could handle the technology and use this blog to keep each other up to date from time to time. My question is... will I be the only one throwing stuff out here? For that you could stop by my regular blog Life's Little Things and it doesn't get me caught up on you and yours. Shall we start the round robin again?

In the meantime.... School is well underway here. Sheela's teacher calls and/or emails four or five times a week. I'm in awe of how much communication there really is bettween the students, the teachers and the parents. It just doesn't seem like school the way that I remember it. Sunil is apparently focused on maps. He can find Texas, Asia and Europe on any map even if it's a map of New England. There may be some room for refinement of his technique. Our soccer season kicked off with a tournament last weekend. Sheela's team is undefeated, and Sunil's team is, er, defeated. It was the first time the boys had ever played and they had to play up a level. Sid is hosting his second wine dinner this evening and I have nothing new to say about me. I hope that you are all well (and that you'll tell us about it).

Smith Kith Magazine?

The photos on Flickr are great - Brian and I are really enjoying them a lot.

Brian found this cool website that lets you use the photos hosted on Flickr to make mock magazine covers, and thought it would make a fun cover of the reunion (thanks David for the photo!).

Kevin Seven's pix

Yay, Kevin! Way to go! Great pix.

OK, now we're cooking. It's great to watch the photos as a slideshow. Highly recommend it!

Corn-cob comments on photos

Ha! I am so happy to see that more photos have been added to the Flickr group (at www.flickr.com/groups/smithkith )

If you see the link (in the group) where it says "6 Members", you can click on the individual member and see all of his/her other photos (some which maybe were not selected for the group upload).

Anyway - when looking at my photos (click here), you can see all my little labels. Brian, upon seeing them, said, "Ooh, noo. More of your corn-cob comments!!!".

So, here is a special photo of Brian!

PLEASE KEEP UPLOADING YOUR PHOTOS TO FLICKR! I know it ain't easy, but it is appreciated.

Cathy's Photos

Cathy's connection is too unreliable and frustrating for her to load their photos to the Flickr site. So she will email them around. I asked her to copy me on them so I can load them to Flickr. I Can't wait to see what she has.

Back To School

My kids started back to school today. Hopefully this will be the last year that they start this early. We keep passing state laws to push back the date, but we've always included a clause that makes the law worthless. This year I think we got it right and next year classes should start near Labor Day.

Flickr is picking up speed

Mom and I went to finish loading her reunion pictures on to Tracey's Flickr phjoto album and found that David has been there too. There are now quite a few photos to peruse. I enjoyed them all and know that Mom will load more of hers when she gets back home.

Doing it right

There is an interesting article in the archives of Fodor's Travel Wire called Fuss-Free Family Reunions. Made me wonder whether Lyn had read it, or does she simply have an instinct for doing things right?

Photos...

Tracey,

The idea for the group photos is great but apparently the shutterbugs in the family aren't the ones spending time at their computers just yet. I don't think Cathy and Nancy are back home yet. Sandra doesn't have internet access at her apartment yet and Mom is too busy playing with Sheela.

I keep checking, just in case, Karin

Cameron

Maureen, Make sure you tell Cameron that we all said, "Thank you!" for the CDs. I love it. I've been listening to it at work all week. I love having a talented family even if the talent is not all that apparent from this side of the house.
